It has been a while since my last post, and that is because I have been busy juggling everything. Being a parent at the moment is bloody hard. So is being a business owner. And yet, I love both. It is the balancing act that I don't love so much. I once heard a saying that resonates very strongly with me...

We are well into the thick of this hideous pandemic, and are trying to settle into some sort of routine. Remote learning has been tough for my 3 teenage children - yes, we had another milestone birthday when my baby turned 13. Even though there is pressure from the Commonwealth Government, there is still no talk of Victorian schools welcoming students back. So, the routine that we have established under our roof just might need to stay a bit longer. I have had the benefit of working from home for over...

Well, that was a tough week. I have worked from home for over 16 years, so am quite adapt at working with distractions and motivating myself. It helps when I really love my job, as it doesn't often feel like work. However, this week was different. Online learning kicked into full gear with 3 children at home all learning remotely. My three children are all quite different from one another so adapted at differing levels. I have one who is up and ready right before they need to be, and has their...

That's a pretty dark image, isn't it? Unfortunately it reflects how I am feeling at the moment. Stage 3 restrictions are in place and staying home is now enforceable. My excuse for laying low and watching Netflix is totally reasonable. However now that I have binge watched the latest season of Ozark (disclaimer - it is very gruesome, so don't watch on my recommendation if you are not into deep dark television), I don't want to be in isolation any more. Yesterday was my son Tom's 16th birthday. What a non-event that turned out to be....

We are currently on Stage 3 lock down for Covid-19 in Victoria which means there are only a few reasons we can go outside: to shop for food and other necessary goods and services To access medical services or provide caregiving. For example, this includes shared parenting obligations or providing care and support to an unwell, disabled, elderly or pregnant friend or relative. to attend work or education (where you can’t do those things remotely) for exercise You may also leave you home in an emergency or if required by...

Along with every other event, April Fools Day is cancelled this year. Google announced that they would not be promoting any April Fools Day gags this year as it was insensitive. To be honest, I think it is because no one knows what to believe at the moment. Nothing would be considered as not being a possibility at the moment. I only saw one post on Facebook with an AFD joke. The comments where divided: some appreciated the humour, whilst others found it insensitive and wasn't well received at all. We have to...

Each day brings new rules and guidelines. The one thing that I thought wouldn't change is the opportunity to exercise. Last night it was announced that tennis courts and club rooms are now also subject to closure. I totally understand shutting down gyms and swimming pools but am not sure how closing tennis courts will help with flattening the curve. Surely a hit of tennis between family members (who even sleep in the same bed) should still be allowed? When listening to our Prime Minister Scott Morrison at his public address on...
